Subaru has raised the boost which helps get the 2.5L engine around 300 horsepower and 350 torque. A decent increase from the normal 265 horsepower and 258 torque. It also comes with a six speed transmission and many other cool features.

He voiced his opinion for a roots supercharger as the best and pointed to its efficiency as a huge plus. You are looking at Specter Werks Corvette GTR with a 800 horsepower / 800 torque twin turbocharged LS7 from Lingenfelter. This 6speedonline member has posted a very nice and very powerful Toyota Supra. Currently the Supra is putting out 1300 RWHP and 965 RWT. Currently it weights 3480.

Rumor has it Ford is developing a twin turbocharged 5.0L V8 codenamed “Road Runner” for the 2012 Shelby GT500. Estimates put the power at 500 horsepower. I hope Ford is developing it to consume less gas for that level of power because the current 5.4L V8 makes 540 horsepower.

Controlled Power Technologies is working on their version of the electric superchager. The idea behind an electric supercharger is it provides boost without the lag of a turbochargers and doesn’t suffer parasitic loss like a supercharger does. CPT’s supercharger works on 12V and in the test run of a 1.2L engine it provided 50% increase in torque below 3K RPM compared to the same turbocharged engine. We agree with Jalopnik, we would love to see these on a bigger engine. The thought of a V8 with instant boost from idle would be very fun.

This is one of the sickest Vipers I have seen. These are some eye candy of it’s dyno run. At 4 psi of boost the car is making 950 horsepower and 806 torque. I would bet they are planning on more power after further tuning.
